Glaze Catalogue

Glaze is a special type of paint used for ceramic work. It is intended to be brought up to extremely hot temperatures, where the chemicals in the glaze chemically react to create their beautiful colors. This is why most ceramic pieces have such variety to them, even if they were only painted with or dipped into one glaze. Glazes will also look slightly different depending on the clay body used—you'll notice brighter, purer colors on porcelain clays than stoneware clays, for example.

Below you will find a booklet of glaze options that I currently have in-stock, all of which run to Cone 5-6 (around 2200º Fahrenheit). In this booklet, I have collected all combinations that currently have a professional example publicly available, typically through Amaco's glaze layering page. I update this booklet after every firing and every new glaze order.

When requesting a commissioned work, feel free to request color combinations from the booklet by name. If I don't have anything that quite fits what you're looking for, let me know so I can research and consider incorporating a new glaze option in my next restock.
